I want to be like Tim Burton one day...

Emo kids and Goths aren't the only ones in love with dark humor and horrifically beautiful animation thanks Tim Burton. This guy has to have the best dreams ever because his art is crazy! His Studio films with their independent vibes make me ALMOST not hate commercialized media. Never before has morbid looked so good... Here's a montage of all his work.

After all who doesn't love a good montage?

With wife and female co-star of most of his movies, his very own Corpse Bride Helena Bonham Carter(Fight Club) by his side, I believe his artistic visions will give me great reason's time and time again to actually pick up my remote and turn to something other than Sundance or IFC or force myself inside a theater.

Wind Me Up Chuck!

So Shut and Kickballers have joined forces to release this beauty. I'm so impressed and happy to see the [Metro]area's culture being put on. The board is based on area and music legend, Chuck Brown, the Godfather of GO-GO.

Here's some classic Chuck.

Kehinde Wiley

There is a Current pod about my man Kehinde, you should check it out. He juxtaposes past to present, blacks with whites, high society and low brow for an effect that is truly like no other y'all.

"RECOGNIZE! Hip Hop and Contemporary Portraiture," opens at the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution on February 8, 2008, and runs through October 26, 2008.

Will be there soon, look out for pics, and if you are in the area, come support true art.

New Direction

It seems life likes to come crashing down all around you just when you think you have the perfect structure...
_________________________________________________________________
As you all may or may not know, I love creativity to the nth degree and have so my entire life, but I am of Nigerian descent in America and the first child of six. With that said it makes sense that I would panic to find out that my heart no longer viewed Engineering and Art equally, Art has won by a near shutout...but almost too far into the game...
_________________________________________________________________
You see, for the last few years of my short life, I was convinced that I was going to be an engineer of some kind because I loved creating thinks and watching them work but now I think that I was just lying to myself more or less because it's what my parents would love to hear. I've been in technology-focused education for as long as I can remember and even took robotics classes during summer breaks. I swore up and down to my parents that I would end up at one BLANK Institute of Technology or another BLANK Tech. But now, thanks to my experiences at my Science and Technology Internship Program at UMDCP, I realized that i was only in love with the creating part and not the work and theory behind it. Don't get me wrong, Engineering as a topic is still up there to me and will always have a place in my imagination, but I just plain love art and design more.
_________________________________________________________________
The question is not how to prepare for getting this sort of education, just how I break it to my parents who've seen all the engineering schools filling up my mailbox with admissions forms and have started calling me 'Engineer Chuk" already. I have to prove to them that I can still attain a good level of capitalistic security in my chosen path, after all, they just want the best for me.

Jesus save me....
_________________________________________________________________
P.S. Thank you to all mentors, friends et al. who've provided me with a bit of knowledge and insight on my dilemma, you're all angels. If it wasn't for the combined 'do it', 'don't do it', 'here's what I did's etc., I would have to be an angry engineer when I was old instead of a happy artist.

Clever...But Needs More

I've seen alot of cool hat concepts and some creative applications of the 'Hello' sticker...but together, thats pretty steezy. My only gripe is why its so small....you hear me New Era? This needs to be fleshed out a bit more! Oh the possibilities....

Official Stuff

Hello to you all out there in the internets, it's me, Chuk. I want to let you guys in on some info about things on our side so just sit back and drink it all in...

One:In a little bit, this blog will become one of two places to satiate you're need and greed for all things etcetera. The other will be our website. More on this later...

B:Emmanuel and I are in this thing called twelfth grade and take these things called AP and Internship classes so things will be a little hectic until the time that our highly unorganized school can get a handle of itself. Because of this, update and the like will be sporadic and boring at best so check in every day at your own risk!

III:Late Winter is when we're releasing Season Zero (God willing...)
It'll be a nice cross section of alot of the bases we intend to cover, but wont serve as a limit to what we can do in the future.

Last:We have some cool ish lined up for our blog and site from features to interviews and if you all (yes, all three of you) can bear with us, you wont be dissapointed.

P.S. Can't get DANCE out of my friggin head. Props to Ed Banger Records, all of their songs are such, well, bangers!
